Aeration
What is it, and why does my lawn need it?
Soil that needs more air due to soil compaction can result in slow growth, bare spots, shallow roots, and excess irrigation runoff—causing the lawn to be highly vulnerable to insects, disease, and heat damage. To promote growth and get much needed oxygen down to the grass roots, aeration creates openings in the lawn by pulling plugs out of the soil, allowing increased air supply and the ability to absorb water and fertilizer. These necessary openings alleviate soil compaction, reduce thatch, and provide a much stronger, healthier, and more beautiful lawn.
Aeration Benefits
Growth rate of the grass
Ability of water and fertilizer to penetrate soil
Absorption rate of irrigation and rainfall
Root growth activity
Strength and health of grass
Soil’s ability to hold adequate moisture
Capability of bacteria to decompose organic matter
Lawn’s ability to withstand heat stress
Overseeding
Overseeding is planting grass seed directly into existing turf where bare spots are visible or over a larger area of lawn to improve the density of grass that has become thin. An annual application should be considered to maintain a healthy lawn. Turf grasses are continually thinning due to damage from heat, drought, disease, weeds, insects, overuse, shady conditions, and heavy traffic. To maintain density, overseeding with core aeration to maximize seed and soil contact is necessary to replenish the grass's natural dying process.
Overseeding Benefits
New grass can be introduced to an existing lawn to resist diseases and insect attacks
Provides color and active growth
Workable solution for bare spots
Crowd out weeds
Thickening of the lawn
Aesthetically pleasing
Fertilization
Proper soil management is vital to keeping your lawn healthy. In Colorado especially, the soil requires special treatment by seasonally applying the right amount of necessary nutrients to encourage healthy growth. These seasonal feedings can help your lawn stay healthy, promote leaf and root growth, reduce troublesome weeds, recover lost nutrients, and help the lawn recover from numerous activities.
Fertilizers for each seasonal feeding are custom blended to replenish nutrients and deliver a thicker, greener lawn.
Fertilization Benefits
Replenish depleted nutrients
Rebuilds food reserve
Improves color and density
Restores nutrients and encourages new root growth
Promotes fall root development and nutrient storage
